According to a recent Forbes article quoting a Google survey, you should have a mobile site. You knew that already, because if you have a smart phone you’ve been frustrated by websites that are not optimized for our smaller screens.
Some interesting graphics (that I didn’t produce) are attached below with links to the articles. I would take what Google says with a grain of salt, because they want to sell mobile advertising and have a personal interest in ‘mobilizing’ all sites for that purpose.
Another interesting point made: the use of multiple devices supports decision making for different purchasing actions unevenly. Take a look at what kinds of decisions are made on which devices. The implications are interesting for marketing and communications.
